Boston Common

Yesterday the wub took a trip to Boston Common to see outdoor ice skating.
No ferry today. The water's frozen.
A frozen pond, but no skaters.
We see the ice rink in the distance!
The wub gets bored watching the zamboni clean the ice.

She's more interested in the Boston architecture.

And here's the skaters.

Check out the video of the winter ice skaters below...

Butt Scoot Boogie

The wub still hasn't mastered the classic crawl but she 's an enthusiastic butt-scooter, which as seen in the video below, resembles Tigger from Winnie the Pooh (though not as efficient).

The wub's bouncy travels this morning took the path shown in the diagram.

And the journey made the toy at the end all the sweeter.

Reverse Gear

The wub is getting pretty good at scooting backwards.

O Wubbenbaum

After seeing the Disneyland tree the wub wanted one of her own.

Unfortunately the lot in Winchester was all out of 60 foot trees.

It's wicked cold. (22 F)

But it's nice and cozy in the car seat.

The wub is ready to decorate.

But something is missing from the top.

Nothing the wub can't fix.

Here comes the train.

Hey, come back!

O Maussenbaum

The wub visited the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian hotel.

Yowza! Now that's a tree!

Walking in a Winter Wubbaland

Yesterday Boston got ten inches of snow, which was the wub's first big storm.

With the walk all shoveled and an insulated car seat cozy she doesn't seem to mind much. One worry is that the heat went out ...

But the big yellow truck came to the rescue.

Little Boxes (more pics from CA trip)

The warm California sun gave the wub the chance to take a ride around the block and see what it's like to live in the burbs.
The wub saw where the sidewalk ends...
Until about 5 years ago, everything north of grandma Chatsworth's house was chaparral. Now it's new housing.

In the suburbs everyone puts their recycling out by the curb. And you can park where ever you like (the wub, being a city girl, didn't believe us at first that this was not a street sweeping day, there really is that much parking).

Also, suburbanites park their Prius next to their manicured lawns.

If you've seen one lawn, you've seen them all. And the wub fell asleep dreaming in the sunshine.

A Traditional Chatsworth Chanukah

Grandma Chatsworth is very enthusiastic about Chanukah. (Damn those first century B.C. Hellenized Jews). She had a pre-Chanukah party for the wub and then sent a Chanukah-in-a-box emergency kit with the wub back to Boston.
The wub is expecting to get a lot of use out of this California sundress during the New England winter.
Chanukah back in Boston.
