A very small girl goes to a pretty small zoo

We went to the Franklin Park zoo with Sada, Josh, and Bell.
The wub and dad see some camels.

Dinner Theater

At dinner the wub not only gets to eat cereal gruel and pureed vegetables, there's usually entertainment provided by the dog.

The dog is a lot more interesting than dinner itself and sometimes she laughs while she's looking at him, then desperately tries to see where he's hiding once he walks away.

Apple picking

We went apple-picking on Sunday in Stow (about 40 minutes West of Cambridge/Medford). This gave Frances a good excuse to break out the Bugaboo (the Humvee of strollers).

She's not quite sure what to do with food that doesn't come in bottle or gruel form.

Shelburne Farms is part of the child-centric "pick your own" industry. As such it has dwarf apple trees, suitable for picking by the wub.

A pretty good haul.

After all that it's time for a snack.

And she's ready for mom to take her home.

Almost ready to crawl

Frances just turned six months old and is learning how to crawl, which mostly consists of her moving her arms like she is practicing a swimming stroke (but not moving more than an inch a minute across the ground).
Here she is in her room.

(solid) food, glorious (solid) food!

Frances started eating rice cereal this month and found it a fascinating experience. She likes it and chomps on the spoon but has yet to master swallowing.

Early admission

Just six months old and already attending Harvard.

Her teachers, Bonnie and Ann, visit the wub in her natural habitat.

Wicked cold hat weather

From LA to Boston (with a stop)

Getting ready to push off at LAX and go to Boston.

But first we had to stop at the Mecca of consumerism.

Frances' favorite thing at Disneyworld was the vanity mirror in her room.

The pool was a little more intimidating.

The bed was nice too.

She liked the fish at Epcot ...
... even the big ones.

And dressing up to eat in Cinderella's castle was fun too.

According to Florida state law it had to rain, but only once before leaving to go to Boston.

And grandpa (Bonsall) was waiting at the new apartment.

Where he'd brought the only piece of furniture she needed.
